This season, the Pittsburgh coaching staff has been concentrating their recruiting efforts on the state of Florida and the returns on their investment are showing up big-time. Recently, offensive tackle Jerald Robinson of Fort Pierce (Fla.) Central said yes to the Panthers.

"Last week Jerald visited West Virginia and this right now he's up in Pittsburgh," Head Coach Ed Geiger said. "He actually committed to them before his visit. He felt comfortable enough with Coach Partridge and Walt Harris that he went ahead and made a decision."

What are the Panthers getting from their recently committed offensive tackle?

"He's a real big kid," Geiger said. He's 6-foot-9 and 310 pounds with very good feet. Jerald really understands the game well and with his wing-span, he's a very good pass-blocker. Pittsburgh is getting a deal."

According to Geiger, the one thing holding Robinson back is academics.

He's not qualified yet but getting closer," he said.

Robinson selected Pittsburgh over West Virginia.
