Pittsburgh offers Southwest Florida MVP

The offers are mounting for Naples, FL OLB, 6-1 225 4.48, Spencer Adkins. Already offering the 1st Team 5A all-state LB, and South West Florida player of the year, are Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, and now Adkins has added a 4th offer from the University of Pittsburgh.

"Coach Kramer told me Pitt called the school and offered me a scholarship."

Florida State called on National Signing Day and offered Adkins. Does he have a favorite yet?

"No, everyone is even right now."

Would you prefer to stay in state? "I wouldn't mind it ,but I'm going to look at all my options."

Spencer was impressed thus far by Coach Charlie Partridge's efforts, "He's doing as good as anyone else is."

Adkins had 11 sacks and 17 tackles for loss this season, while maintaining a 3.29 GPA, and benched 185 an amazing 24 times and has a 37" vertical leap.

Basketball is actually Spencer's first love, he plays power forward and averages 16 points and 10 rebounds a game. But he doesn't stop there, he also runs the 100 and 4x100 relay for the Naples Track team.

Does Spencer have any plans mapped out for visits?

"I am going to the Blue and Orange game, the Florida Gators spring game."

Does Pittsburgh have a chance with you?

"Just as good as anybody else does, I wouldn't mind going up there and checking it out. Reggie Carter goes there, he's from Naples too."
