Small town kid, big time TE prospect

Biglerville, nestled in Adams County, PA, boasts a population of less than 1,000 people. That does not mean it does not have any athletes. Jacob Showers is already sporting a PIAA Class AA 8th place medal from his sophomore wrestling campaign at 215 LBS, and is preparing for better things at this year's tournament.

Wrestling is not even his best sport, as Jacob Showers, Biglerville High School, PA. 6-4, 215, 4.7 is widely considered a blue chip TE prospect .

Showers says during football he usually weighs around 225 but has the frame to be even bigger. He sports a 340 bench and 400 squat, to go along with a 25" vertical. Jake attends speed, agility, and quickness training every morning before school. In two seasons he had 25 receptions, 455 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Defensively he had 97 tackles 6 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, and 2 blocked kicks.

As a sophomore Showers was named Mid-Penn 2nd Team Defense, Honorable Mention offense, All-Times 1st Team defense, Harrisburg Patriot-News Mid State Top 100, Hanover-Adams 1st Team All-Area. He plays in a primarily run oriented offense at Biglerville.

Former Biglerville coach Waranavage says this of Showers.

"Jake has the potential to be an impact player, he runs well and is athletic. He has good strength and is coachable. He will be an asset to any program."
