Big Ohio lineman in big demand

As always, Ohio has some excellent offensive linemen next year, and one of the best plays in the same city as the state's No. 1 program.

Massive John Buckner, from Beechcroft High School in Columbus, has the size, talent, experience, leadership ability, and intelligence to be an excellent offensive lineman at the next level.

At 6'6" and 325 pounds, Buckner impresses coach Tom Dunlap in every way.

"He will be a third-year starter for us next year and the offensive captain," says Dunlap. "And he has great size and is an excellent student."

When asked how long he will wait to decide, John Buckner says he would rather just get it over with. And who could be the lucky school?

Buckner has heard mostly from Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Iowa, Stanford, Minnesota, Northwestern, Nebraska, Indiana, and Cincinnati. Pittsburgh Recruiting Coordinator Bryan Deal used to coach near Columbus, but so far that isn't enough to put Pitt in his top six.

Buckner's favorite, and his favorite since childhood, is the hometown Ohio State Buckeyes. Following are all Big 10 schools. Iowa and Wisconsin are next, with the third tier consisting of Minnesota, Northwestern, and Indiana.

Buckner has a 3.5 GPA and has already scored 21 on his ACT.
