Erie Strong Vincent's "Super Mario"

Erie Strong Vincent head coach Tom Cacchione will have a lineup this season that could feature as many as four Division-1A prospects. Combine those with the other two Erie super powers, Erie Cathedral Prep and Erie McDowell, and District 10 AAAA football will be alive and well in 2004.

Potentially the best of them all could be RB Mario Henry 5-11, 200 4.4 and a 40" vertical. During his junior season Mario rushed 141 times for 1002 yards, and 19 touchdowns.

The most impressive thing about that according to his coach, "We run a wing-t so we spread the ball around. If I just gave him the ball his stats would be astronomical." said Cacchione

Perhaps as equally impressive as his football credentials is his ability in the weight room. Henry benches 450, Dead lifts 540, and squats 320. He currently owns 4 state power-lifting records in the 16-17 year old 198-pound weight class. His goal is to now eclipse a national record at an upcoming contest at Villa Maria High School in Erie.

Henry is getting interest from Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, and Syracuse. His favorites are Michigan, Pittsburgh, and Penn State.
