Westerville-South lineman getting attention

Westerville, OH- Ohio has many Division 1A lineman prospects this year. One of them who is attracting a lot of interest is OT Phillip Pollard 6-5, 275, 4.9 Westerville-South High School. Pollard has attended Ohio State's first junior day, and has been invited to the University of Pittsburgh's on March 6th.

Phillip Pollard is currently getting interest from Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Maryland, Iowa, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Bowling Green. His preliminary list of favorites are Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Pittsburgh, and Toledo.

This spring and summer Pollard will attend the Ohio State Nike combine, Michigan, Ohio State, and Iowa football camps. The 1st Team All Ohio Capital Conference selection is in no hurry to rush into a verbal commit.

"I am going to weigh out all of my options, and when the right school comes along, I'll make my selection."

Pollard participates in track and field in the spring, throwing the shot put and the discus. He qualified for district's in both events; his personal bests are 150' in the discus and 50' in the shot.

When Phil was asked to describe his best attributes.

"I am a very physical player, I have quick feet which allows me to get to my blocks quick and I maintain them."

Phillip Pollard quick stats: 305 lb bench, 500 lb squat, 24" vertical. In the classroom Pollard maintains a 2.7 GPA and will take his SATS in April.
