Recruiting is picking up for big Ohio WR

Westerville, OH – Blue chip wide receivers are plentiful, however ones that are 6-6 and run a 4.5 are a rare find. Enter WR J. Sharps 6-6, 200, 4.5 Westerville – South High School. Business is picking up for the 2nd team All Ohio Capital Conference selection and Honorable Mention All – District pick. Ohio State, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh have been showing him the most attention.

"If I were to pick my favorites right now I would have to say, they would include Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, Iowa, Pittsburgh, and Indiana"

The University of Pittsburgh invited J. Sharps to their Junior Day on March 6th. However, due to a conflict with his basketball team's post season, he is unsure if he will be able to attend.

During the 2003 season Sharps caught 48 passes for 768 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Besides possessing great size and speed, what separates him from other receivers?

"I have good hands; I see the field well; I have the height to get over most defensive backs and enough speed to get by them."

Sharp's favorite player is another big and fast wide receiver, Randy Moss.

During the winter Sharps plays center on the Westerville – South basketball team, and he doesn't stop there, as he is a member of the track and field team. He runs the hurdles, 4x100 relay, and also does the long and high jumps.

At this point in time Sharps hasn't been offered by a school but will definitely be one to keep an eye on. This summer Jay will camp at Ohio State and Michigan.
