Two-sport PA star may have to make a choice

One of the most highly recruited players in both PA and the country last year was star LB James Bryant from Reading (PA) HS. But while the excellent Bryant was also on the basketball team, he wasn't going to the next level in the sport. His former teammate at Reading may have that option.

"I will have a decision to make," says 6'3" 195 pound Roger Hall, who said playing both is always an option.

On defense, Roger Hall plays WR and CB, but it's the latter where he most sees himself in college.

"It's his great size," says Reading football coach Al Wolski. "He is very hard to throw over."

Added to his great size, Hall also has 4.6 speed and excellent jumping ability, to go along with good hands. He returned one interception 101 yards for Reading the past season.

In basketball, Reading has a 25-4 record, a lot of it due to Hall's athleticism and 10.9 ppg. He is good enough that he is currently being recruited by Temple and Penn State.

For football he has heard the most from Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, West Virginia, and Michigan State.

His favorite?

"I like Pittsburgh," says Hall, even though he hasn't heard from them yet. "I saw their coach (Walt Harris) walking around with James last year and he was at one of our basketball games."

But when asked who his favorite team growing up was, he doesn't hesitate to mention Miami.

Hall was invited to both Penn State and West Virginia but didn't go to either.

"I went to some Temple games since they were the closest," says Hall.

He is thinking of camping at West Virginia and the Nike Combine at Penn State.
