Harrison City, PA- The rest of the nation is finding out what those of us in Western Pennsylvania already have known. Penn Trafford's OT Jason Kacinko, 6-6, 300, is a Blue Chip lineman, perhaps the best in the state. Kacinko attended the University of Pittsburgh Junior Days today, and got an unexpected surprise.
"I was talking to Coach Bray and he said Coach Harris would like to speak with you, I walked in the office and there was a Pitt jersey lying on his desk with the name Kacinko on it. I was floored, when Coach Harris said ‘Jason, I would like to offer you a scholarship to attend the University of Pittsburgh
Kacinko has been hearing from a list of big time programs including Michigan and USC; Jason went to Michigan's junior days last weekend in Ann Arbor.
Does this put Pittsburgh in the lead?
"I really liked Michigan and Pittsburgh both, I am still keeping my options open so I make the right choice."
What is next on the agenda for you Jason?
"I was invited to West Virginia's Junior Days but will not be able to attend, because I am taking my SATS that day. I will be attending the Nike Combine May 15th."
How was the trip to junior days?
"It went real well, the facilities were impressive. I attended the Metro-Index camp there so I've seen the practice field, but this was the first time I saw the locker room and weight room."
I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on what I'm sure will be the first of many offers for you.
