Fleet footed Pennsylvania WR prospect

Farrell, PA - The Farrell Steelers are a small Class A team, but have a steep football tradition. The last Farrell player to make a major impact at the division 1 level was Lorenzo Styles. Lorenzo played at Ohio State and then had a productive career in the NFL.

Coach Lou Falconi believes he has that type of impact player on his team now in WR Quintin Odem 6-1, 172, 4.3 and a 3.1 GPA.

"This kid has all the ability in the world, once he puts it all together he's going to be something special. The only person I can compare him to would be Steve Breaston from Woodland Hills and now at Michigan. He's the type of kid that when he touches the ball he's a threat to take it the distance."

The blazing receiver is a game breaker. His sophomore season Odem rushed for 650 yards and had another 760 yards receiving. He totaled 16 touchdowns; the astonishing thing is each of his touchdowns went for an average of 52.8 yards per play. He averaged 34 yards per reception and 21 yards per touch. During both his sophomore and junior seasons Odem scored touchdowns by rushing, receiving, throwing, kick returns, punt returns, interception returns and on fumble recoveries.

Odem has received letters from Pittsburgh, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, and Syracuse. His early list of favorites is Pittsburgh, Syracuse, South Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana.

Quentin was invited to Pittsburgh Junior Day on March 6th, but was unable to attend. He plans on attending the next one. He would also like to go to North Carolina if he can. This summer he will be camping at Pittsburgh and will soon attend the West Penn combine at New Castle. During 2003 he was named to the Big Southern Conference 1st team as a RB, and 2nd Team as a WR. He is being recruited as a WR.

The 4.3 times are legitimate according to Odem and coach Falconi, Odem was invited to Australia as part of an international track team, consisting of high school track stars.
