New York RB weighing his options

As of late a lot of people that follow high school sports have heard of Mount Vernon High School. Mostly because of its state championship basketball team that defeated the highly touted Lincoln squad led by Sebastian Telfair. Mount Vernon also has a football team, and a pretty good RB that has hopes of leading them to the same heights as the basketball team.

RB Gregory Harris 6-0, 175, 4.3 rushed for 700 yards and had 500 yards receiving in 2003. He has been getting interest from Maryland, Wisconsin, Air Force, and Boston College. He has taken an unofficial visit to the Maryland campus. During his trip he toured the campus, got to see the field, and the athletic facilities. So how did Harris like his trip to see the Terrapins?

"It was nice, I had a good time. Maryland is definitely in my top 3."

Harris is planning on attending the Nike Combine at Penn State on May 15th. He will also be attending the MSL Combine at Rutgers University, and a camp at West Point on May 2nd.

Harris has a preliminary list of favorites, which includes Pittsburgh, Maryland, West Virginia, Michigan, and Syracuse. One of Gregory's best friends will be attending Pittsburgh in the fall and is a key recruit on Head Coach Jamie Dixon's Sweet 16 Panther team, SG Keith Benjamin.

"He likes Pittsburgh, I'd really like to check them out," said Harris.

What is Harris looking for in the University he will choose to play for?

"I would like to major in Mechanical Engineering. I want to go somewhere that will help me become a better person, and prepare me to enter the world."

Harris is a sprinter on the Mount Vernon track team. He has a Max bench of 225lbs. and a max squat of 380lbs. He is a 3.0/4.0 student and he will take the SAT test in May.
