Pittsburgh is the first too offer Akron standout

Akron, OH- St.Vincent- St. Mary's Standout DE/WR Lawrence Wilson (6-6, 228, 4.6) had 15 sacks last season for the Irish. Lawrence was offered a scholarship to attend the University of Pittsburgh on Monday.

Wilson attended Blue Chip junior day at Pittsburgh last month. He attended Michigan prior to that. He recently took an unofficial visit to South Bend, IN to see the campus and facilities at Notre Dame. He is planning a trip to Ohio State.

Wilson is a solid student who maintains a 3.4 GPA. He is also one of the best basketball players in the state of Ohio. Lawrence transferred to St.Vincent- St.Mary's after attending Walsh-Jesuit in Cuyahoga Falls. He averaged 15 PPG and 7 RPG for the state runner-up. St. Vincent- St. Mary's lost a heart breaker to Ottawa-Glandorf.

Lawrence is possibly considering playing both sports at the next level. Butler and Vanderbilt are the main schools showing interest in him as a basketball player. Pittsburgh, Michigan, Ohio State, and Notre Dame have been the most persistant as far as recruiting him for football.
