Pitt is it for Stephens

LaRod Stephens highlight video has made him a hot commodity in college football circles. Today according to a source close to the family RB LaRod Stephens 5-8, 165, 4.48 Johnstown High School, Johnstown Pa his verbal commitment too attend the University of Pittsburgh. This is a major coup for Head Coach Walt Harris and his staff.

LaRod rushed for 2,226 yards and 23 touchdown's last season. He was named to the Old Spice Red Zone Team, 1st Team AP Class AAA All-State, 1st Team Class AAA Pennsylvania Football News All—State, 1st Team Laurel Highlands Conference, and the Tribune-Democrat Offensive Player OF The Year.

Stephens is a very elusive, cutback runner. People think he's small but he is very strong a will put his shoulder down to run through people. If you miss he has that extra gear to take it to the house. He is an outstanding receiver out of the backfield, and he is a capable CB as well. LaRod is an outstanding return man a position he will be able too help Pittsburgh at right away.

Walt Harris is often criticized for not securing the talents of Western Pennsylvania high profile players; The tide may be turning as Stephens gives the Panthers their 2nd early verbal from the area this year. OT John Brown of Burrell High School committed earlier to attend Pittsburgh.
