Ohio WR earns Big East offer

Youngstown, OH- The University of Pittsburgh has held three junior day sessions, thus far. They hosted a number of recruits at their annual Blue Vs. Gold Spring game. The University has easily played host to over 100 prospects in the last two months. During the last two months the offers have been flying, as Pittsburgh has offered over 30 scholarships to players from all over the country.

One player who obtained one of those offers recently is WR Marcellus Bowman 6-3, 190, 4.5 Liberty High School, Youngstown. Bowman has received an offer from Cincinnati as well. Marcellus visited Pittsburgh to take in the spring game, how did he like it?

"I had a good time, the coaching staff is very nice there, and they make you feel at home. I felt like I could be myself there. I am looking forward to seeing more of the school." Said Bowman

Besides Pittsburgh and Cincinnati Bowman has been hearing from Boston College, Purdue and Iowa. He has taken unofficial trips to Pittsburgh, Michigan, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Iowa, and Purdue. While Bowman say's all of the school's are nice, there is one who stands out from the rest right now, and that would be.

"Pittsburgh, is my favorite right now. I'm going too wait until after May when the coaches can come to the school and see me before I make up my mind."

After Pittsburgh Marcellus likes Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa, and Purdue. Some schools like Pittsburgh are recruiting Bowman as a WR, while others like him as a safety. Bowman plays OLB for Liberty.

Jeff Whitaker coaches the Liberty Leopards, they finished 8-2 last season and missed the playoffs, but with several players coming back Bowman is looking for good things this year.

"We have a lot of returning guys, but several of them don't have much game experience. It was a disappointment too miss the playoff's and I don't want that too happen again."

Bowman had 5 TD'S last season on offense, and he ran back 2 INT'S on defense, he was one of the leading tacklers on the team. He was named to the All-Conference Team (TAC-8 Trumbull Athletic Conference).

Marcellus is the starting Center on the basketball team. He runs the 4x100, 4x400, 400, and the high jump for the Leopard track and field team. He has run a personal best 50 secs in the 400 this season.

Bowman has several determining factors as too which school he will choose.

"Distance, Depth Chart, comfort level, I need too b happy as a student if I get hurt and don't have football anymore I need to be happy at the campus I choose to go to."

Marcellus has a GP of 85% out of 100%; he recently has taken his SATS and is awaiting the score. In the weight room he has not maxed out since last summer when benched 255 lbs. and squatted 380 lbs.
