Big time player adds Big time offer

If you're not sure LB Rico McCoy 6-2, 212, 4.5 St. John's College High School, Washington D.C. is a big time prospect watch his video. He may possess the quickest first step of any LB in the nation. The first thing I noticed is when Rico makes a tackle he punishes people. College coaches are starting to realize Rico's big play ability as well.

Rico has just been offered a scholarship by Ohio State and Virginia. Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Boston College have also offered McCoy.

Coach Fickell is recruiting Rico for Ohio State, How does it feel to be offered by the Buckeye's?

"I am excited, Ohio State is a big time football program and I am happy that they offered."

Coach Prince is recruiting Rico for Virginia, What are his feelings about the Cavaliers offer?

"It's another school that's close to home, it's a nice option to have."

Rico has been a very popular kid at school lately as many college coaches have been visiting.

"Most of the school's that have offered have been here or are coming down. Nebraska came in yesterday; NC State is coming in on Wednesday. Miami is coming up next week."

Rico along with his teammate and fellow prospect EJ Wynn took in the Syracuse spring game this past weekend. Rico's brother Reggie is a red shirt freshman safety for the Orangemen. Rico was grading his big brother's performance.

"He played good, but he dropped a pick that he could've taken to the house."

Rico will be participating in the NFL High School Camp at Dunbar High School next week. The players wear helmets and shoulder pads, do drill work and participate in 7 on 7 drills. Rico plans on showing his stuff on a national stage May 29th & 30th at the MSL/Insiders Combine in Cincinnati.

McCoy's favorites are Maryland, Pittsburgh, Miami, Syracuse, and Ohio State, All have offered except Miami, two of the schools have stuck out a little more than the other's so far Maryland and Pittsburgh.

What do you like about Pittsburgh?

"Coach Harris left a good impression on me I really liked him.

How about Maryland?

"Coach Banks he's a good guy the same as Coach Harris is at Pittsburgh."
