Panthers on the prowl in Melbourne

Melbourne (FL) S Ray Herring has offers, more than he can remember. The ones he does know are Notre Dame, Maryland, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Kentucky, Boston College, Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Eastern Michigan, Temple, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, and Florida International.

"I have more, I just can't remember them all," said Ray Herring.

Herring (5-10.5, 187, 4.5) plays at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. Last season, he had 149 tackles, 7 interceptions and 4 fumble recoveries. On offense, he caught 31 passes for 831 yards and had 12 touchdown receptions and ran for 4 scores from his wingback position. He was one of the driving forces behind Holy Trinity compiling a 10-1 record.

Ray is looking into attending camp at Florida and Miami. He has taken unofficial trips to Florida and Miami. Ray attended the Nike Combine at Miami and the Max Emfinger Combine at UAB.

Herring just wrapped up track season. He runs the 100, 200, and 4x100 relay for Holy Trinity. His fastest 100 meters this season was an 11.3. He is also the starting point guard on the basketball team.

"I play defense and I like to pass. I don't worry about scoring much."

So, will Pitt get an official visit?

"As of right now, they are one of the teams that I'm thinking about."

Herring has a 34" vertical and a 3.5 GPA. His favorites right now are Florida, Miami, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh.
