Millard Keeps Pittsburgh On Short List

A look at Chad Millard's recruiting process

Chad Millard, the highly-sought 6-foot-8, 212-pound small forward from Brewster Academy, in Brewster, New Hampshire, will be at the NBA Players Association Camp in Richmond, Virginia, this weekend.

Millard suited up with the New England Playaz at the Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University last weekend, helping them to a strong playoff run. A 6-foot-8 perimeter player with good range, Millard started the weekend slowly but gradually found himself as play wore on.

Chad prefers the long-range jumper and spends a good chunk of his time on the perimeter. He has some bounce and capped off a couple of breaks with dunks. At this point his game seems to be predicated on the three and athletic finishes inside. He doesn't seem to have a strong mid-range component to his game right yet.

Chad has drawn interest from a slew of programs, but counts NC State, Louisville, Missouri, Providence, Arizona, and Pittsburgh among the schools he is considering right now. Recently, he took an unofficial visit to the campus of North Carolina State.

"It went really well," said Millard. "I liked the campus, I liked the guys. It was a good trip."

Millard plans on making it out to Louisville for a visit at some point this summer. "I'd like to be signed before my senior season," said Millard.

Millard has not ruled out a visit to Pittsburgh too. The Panthers have done a good job staying in the recruiting race. Chad will compete at the Reebok ABCD Camp in July, and may make a stop at the Five Star Camp as well. He travels with the Blessed IJN AAU team out of Indiana in addition to the New England Playaz.

Chad attended Trinity High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, as a high school undergraduate.
