Panthers offer another Texas standout

Running backs coach Wayne Moses came to Pittsburgh from Stanford and is still using his old ties to recruit the same areas he did for the Cardinal. Moses and the Panthers have been very active in the Lone Star state. Today, the Panthers offered another Texas standout.

Pearland High School (Pearland, TX) cornerback/safety Quinton Moore (5-10, 185, 4.3) has an impressive offer list, which includes Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arkansas, Houston, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, Baylor, Arizona State, and Missouri (all written offers). The most recent was an offer from Pittsburgh. During his junior season, Moore made 115 tackles, had 2 interceptions, and blocked a punt. He ran the blocked punt and an interception back for touchdowns.

Moore was selected to the 1st Team All-District 24-5A Team and 1st team All-County (Missouri). He was selected as the Defensive Player Of The Year in the District 24-5A and the County (Missouri). Moore has blazing speed. Besides his 4.3 forty, he has been timed at 10.5 in the 100 meters.

What are your feelings towards Pittsburgh?

"I am definitely interested, my mom really likes Pittsburgh. I just have not been able to learn much about the program. Since they have offered, I will check them out," said Moore.

What will be the most important factors in your decision process?

"The relationship that my mom develops with the staff. We have to feel like if I go to a certain school they are going to take care of me and make sure I do the right thing and make the correct choices. When you're away from home, you need that father figure."

What would you consider as your strengths as a player?

"My speed and my alertness."

Are there any specific areas you feel that you need to improve on?

"Strength, just getting stronger. I would also say developing my reads a little better, anticipating better."

Quinn runs the 400, 4x100, 4x400 for the Pearland track team. He has a 2.5 GPA and is still awaiting his test scores. He has a max bench press of 245 lbs. and a max squat of 390 lbs.
