Panthers Land Another Standout

The University Of Pittsburgh has now landed another shutdown corner to pair with recent commitment Dominic Jones of Brookhaven High School. After a heart-to-heart discussion with his family and coaches this very excitable player decided Pittsburgh was the place for him to be. The verbal pledge now gives the panthers their 5th and 3rd Defensive player. The Panthers have commits from Buchtel DT Marlon Terry, Johnstown RB LaRod Stephens, Burrell OT John Brown, and Jones.

CB Bryan Williams (6-0, 185, 4.49) John R. Buchtel High School in Akron, OH has given Coach Walt Harris his verbal pledge to continue his college career at the University Of Pittsburgh. Bryan was ready to pull the trigger after summer camp.

"It was hard not to do it, I love Pittsburgh and it felt right, but I told my family I'd check out Ohio State, I did that on the 27th and it was nice but Pittsburgh is the place for me" said Williams

Williams had offers from Pittsburgh and Akron others who Williams was looking at included Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, and Oklahoma. The Buchtel to Pittsburgh connection was just too strong for Bryan.

"I'm good friends with Tim Murphy, Steve Walker, and Marlon Terry. We always go to the summer camp there so it is a special place for me. It's just like playing at home when you have all those guy's with you."

Buchtel has also produced Ramon "The Quiet Storm" Walker and Darrell McMurray. Walker now patrols the secondary for the Houston Texans.

Last fall as a junior Walker had 51 tackles and 5 interceptions for Head Coach Claude Brown. He also filled in at times for the injured Tony Pittman an Ohio State recruit at RB he ran for 328 yards in spot duty and 6 touchdowns.
