Fear Not, Panther Fans

Judging from the last interviews Vernon Goodridge had with the Insiders network, it looked like Pittsburgh was out of the race. But fear not, Panther fans.

Goodridge is expected to take a visit to the Pittsburgh campus around September 10th.

Goodridge, who plays for Darryl Schofield at Lutheran Christian Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a resident of Brooklyn, New York. His shot-blocking skills are well-documented on the East Coast. But his play over the summer attracted much more national attention.

The 2005 class is weak in depth in the area of big men so a player like Goodridge who has some size and big man skills becomes an even more important recruit. Vernon finished up an unofficial visit to Seton Hall today. He has mentioned interest also in visiting other schools such as Mississippi State and Florida State.

Vernon has already taken unofficial visits to Connecticut and Georgetown. He has also expressed interest in Virginia Tech. "I don't have a leader," Goodridge said. "I want to take some official visits before I make up my mind, hopefully in the Fall."
