Pitt Is It For 3 Star DT

The University of Pittsburgh received a verbal commitment today from Westlake (MD) high school defensive tackle Derrell Jones (6-1, 295, 5.10). Jones chose the Panthers over offers from Syracuse, North Carolina, Clemson, and Connecticut.

"I called coach Moses today at 2:00 and told him I wanted to be a Panther. I also got to talk to defensive line coach Bob Junko," said Jones

Wayne Moses is the Panthers new running backs coach for Pittsburgh he recruits Maryland, D.C., Virginia, California, and Texas.

Derrell Jones is a 3-star prospect who recorded 61 tackles, 3 sacks, and 5 pass deflections as a junior. For his efforts he was named 1st team All-Conference. Jones is the 8th verbal for the Panthers and the 3rd defensive tackle.
