A walk-on possibility

One Pennsylvania lineman we are very high on is Altoona's Zach Haulman. Apparently new offensive line coach Paul Dunn is as well. Haulman was invited to Pittsburgh this weekend for an unofficial visit, and a chance to meet Dave Wannstedt. If all goes well, Haulman may be offered a chance to come to Pittsburgh as a preferred walk-on.

"Coach Dunn called and said he wanted me to come meet him and coach Wannstedt face-to-face," Haulman said. Coach Dunn said they may offer to let me come in as a potential preferred walk-on as he liked my film. Their hands are tied as the previous staff offered the linemen they wanted."

Altoona (Pa.) offensive lineman Zach Haulman, 6-3 and 277 pounds, is scheduled to arrive in Pittsburgh on Saturday (weather permitting). Haulman will be taking an unofficial visit; if he is offered a chance to walk-on he'll have a decision to make. Haulman has been offered a scholarship by Western Michigan. "I visited Western Michigan last weekend (1/14) I liked it, but it was eight hours away," Haulman said. "It's nice to have the offer, and I'm still considering them, but would I be happy there? Pittsburgh is a blue-collar town, that's my kind of people."

Haulman was named 2nd team Class AAAA All-State by the Associated Press, and 3rd team All-State by the PA Football News.

Scout.com will have more following Haulman's visit.
