Big Apple star checks out Pittsburgh

Having had the pleasure of seeing the majority of the prospects the Panthers have offered, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to tell me any of them were as college ready as Vidal Hazelton. The Staten Island star visited the Panthers recently.

Take Larry Fitzgerald's body control and ball skills, and add Hines Ward blocking ability and you have Vidal Hazelton. Yes that's a very big statement, but this prospect is impressive.

Spring break is a cherished time of relaxation for high school students, Staten Island (N.Y.) Moore Catholic wide receiver Vidal Hazelton chose not to relax. Instead, the 6-foot-4 200-pound standout decided to use the free time to visit three of the twelve schools that have offered him a scholarship.

"I went to check out North Carolina, Virginia, and Pittsburgh," Hazelton said. "I'm just trying to get a feel for all these coaching staffs."

North Carolina: "It was nice, they're recruiting me really hard and they have a nice program going."

Virginia: "I like the coaches at Virginia a lot, and the people down there are real. I enjoyed myself down there."

Pittsburgh: "It was good I liked the facilities and the coaches. I got a good feel for the wide receiver's coach (Aubrey Hill). >BR>
Hazelton currently holds offers from Auburn, Boston College, Maryland, Marshall, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Virginia.
