OH DT/OL Still Wide Open

Yianni Karvounides from Tallmadge (OH) High School is still gaining a large amount of interest across the country. See whose involved and the latest on his recruitment.

A second-team All-Ohio player last season, Yianni Karvounides is an interesting prospect to watch out for this year. He graded out at 92 percent blocking in 2004 and according to his coach, Yianni has great attitude and work ethic.

"I have been working out a lot lately," Karvounides said. "My weight is up to 271 and im looking to put on about 8 more good pounds."

Much like in the spring, the recruiting process has been slow. No schools have come through with an offer at this point for Karvounides, but many have stopped by the school and visited with him.

"The recruting process is going pretty good so far," Karvounides said," I'm getting looked at by Iowa, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Syracuse, Akron, Ball State, Kent State, Miami(OH), Toledo, Bowling Green, Cincinnati and Buffalo."

Yianni will be camping later this summer and hopes that they renewed exposure will help his recruitment.

"Later in June and July, I will be attending Kent and Akron for their Big Man camps," Karvounides said. "Right now I am totally open to any college that would like to speak to me or has interest in me."
