Speedy WR Adds 2 Big Offers

One of the more overshadowed talents in the sunshine state is finally starting to receive some well deserved respect. Speedy Wide Receiver Sherman Lang of Florida Air Academy in Melbourne (Fla.) was surprisingly without a scholarship through the spring, but that has since changed.

"Nebraska and Ole Miss have now offered," Lang said, "Louisville, South Carolina, FIU, Middle Tennessee might be offering soon. It's been pretty much the same schools after that; Florida, Miami, Louisville, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Auburn and Tennessee.

Asked to talk about his current offers, the soft spoken and quiet character had this to say.

"I don't really know much about Nebraska," Lang said, "but they seem like a good school and they talk a lot about their offense. Ole Miss, I like them because their receivers are gonna be gone after this season, so I have a chance to come in and start pretty quickly."

Lang is a speedster possessive receiver, who posts a scary 4.4 forty-yard dash time to go along with his 6-foot frame. He's considered one of the more prolific wideouts in Florida for 2006 and is most likely a Florida Top 100 player.

"I'm not afraid to catch the ball of the middle," Lang described himself, "I've got speed, I'm quick and I've got good hands. I adjust to the ball very good."

Lang will make a decision after his season has concluded. He says he isn't necessarily holding out for one particular school, but looking for a school that gives him the widest spectrum.
