Ohio Speedster Is One to Watch

Columbus (OH) native and Northland High School athlete Dan Dominguez made headlines and turned some heads when he ran a 4.4 forty-yard dash at the CSA Prep Star combine. His recruitment has picked up of late.

At 6-foot-2, 200 pounds he certainly has an attractive frame to play secondary at the next level and colleges from across the country have taken notice.

"So far I have not been offered any scholarships," Dan Dominguez said. "I've been going to a lot of camps lately. I have gone to 2 Adidas camps, CSA Prep Star combine, and Miami (OH)'s senior prospect camp, where I played DB."

Dominguez may be on the verge of his first scholarship offer, as he recently starred at the University of Cincinnati's camp. "I preformed really well at free safety," Dominguez said "The coaches really liked what they saw from me. Hopefully everything goes well with that."

The safety/defensive back prospect still might not be done camping, as he is still considering Kent State, Toledo, Ohio State and Northwestern as possible camp destinations.

"My favorites right now would have to be (in order) first, Notre Dame, then Pitt, then Miami (OH), then Louisville, and West Virginia," Dominguez said. "All those schools have shown interest. I have received phone calls from OU, Miami (OH), Pitt, Northwestern, and more."

"The one school I would love to hear more from is Notre Dame," Dominguez said. "I loved that campus. I also like Louisville a lot. They were one of the first schools to show interest in me (Minnesota, being the first)."

The Northland HS star athlete would like to stay closer to home if he had his choice. "Of course I'm a Buckeye fan so for Coach Tressel and the Buckeye staff to show interest would have to be the biggest deal for me," Dominguez said. "The Buckeyes would be my favorites if they began showing interest."
