Pahokee Trio set Official Visits

The September 3rd clash of Pittsburgh versus Notre Dame is setting up as a very important match-up in more ways then one. The first battle of two former NFL coaches Dave Wannstedt and Charlie Weis, and it appears as the Panthers will host a number of visitors that weekend as well.

Pahokee (Fla.) cornerback Ricky Gary (5-9, 177, 4.4) is going to go into his senior season with a big chip on his shoulder. Gary has proved a number of times that he is one of the top cover corners in the state of Florida, yet the "Big 3" have shown very little interest.

"If you look at the league the corners aren't all that big," Gary said. "But you know what my pops said Ricky you just gonna have to go somewhere where they love you for you. That's true, I can't change my size."

Gary recently attended the Florida camp and he felt pretty confident about his performance.

"I felt like I was the MVP of the whole camp, I was all over them guys."

Gary picked up four more offers recently.

"FIU, FAU, Western Michigan, and Indiana all offered in like the last week and a half," Gary said.

Gary also informed that he and two of his teammates have set-up their first official visit.

"I'm going to Pittsburgh on September 3rd for the Notre dame game." Gary said. "Tamarcus Porter and Vincent Cheves are also visiting the same day."

Gary is not shy about his interest in Pittsburgh or defensive ends coach Charlie Partridge.

"I love Pittsburgh man, Coach Partridge has recruited me since the 10th grade," Gary said. "I may just commit when I go up there."

Gary is also interested in North Carolina.

"They show a lot of interest in me," Gary said. "I'm going to their camp this weekend."
