For the first time this century, the Panthers have received an invitation to the NCAA basketball tournament. They will be a three seed in the Southern Region and will face Central Connecticut. The game will be played on Friday March 15th at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh. The winner will face either Pennsylvania or California on Sunday March 17th. Brandin Knight's status for the tournament is still uncertain. The knee injury he sustained in the Big East Final against UCONN is not believed to be serious but an MRI has been scheduled to make sure there was not any structural damage. As soon as the results are known, the will be posted on this site.
