Waiting For First Offer

If you watched film of Kurt Mattes last season you probably noticed his teammate #63 Trevin Cowman. Mattes is off to Northwestern and Cowman (6-3.5, 265, 5.1) will be anchoring the Wyoming Valley West (Pa.) front lines this season.

Cowman was an All-Conference selection as a junior after he recorded 40 poancake blocks on offense. On defense he tallied 57 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery.

Although, Cowman is still awaiting his first offer, he has attracted interest from a number of teams.

"West virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Penn State, and Michigan have all shown interst in me," Cowman said. "Most teams are waiting to see senior film."

Cowman has taken several unofficial visits to Michigan, Northwestern, Penn State, and Virginia. He has also camped at Virginia.

Michigan: "I've been there twice. They have great tradition in football, that always helps your reputation."

Northwestern: "They have a nice campus and a great academic reputation. My former teammate Kurt Mattes is going there.

Penn State: "I've been there twice. I grew up watching them. They have a great fan base, those people really get into the game there."

Virginia: "Nicest campus I've seen. the coaching staff was nice. I was at their camp two weeks ago. I thought it went pretty well."

Next up for Cowman is a trip to Morgantown to check out the Mountaineers on (7/21).
