Agnus finds her Point Guard

Agnus Berenato added another piece to the puzzle over the weekend when she added a commitment from an electrifying point guard from one of the top programs in the nation.

Pittsburgh secured their future at the post last week by gaining a verbal commitment from the No. 14 rated women's basketball player in nation in Selena Nwude.

This weekend the Lady Panthers secured a verbal from Jania Sims a 5-foot-7 point guard from Malcolm X. Shabazz High in Newark, N.J., Shabazz is ranked as one of the top programs in the country.

Sims averaged 10 PPG and seven RPG as a junior. She registered 169 assist which is a Shabazz junior record that was formerly held by Matee Ajavon. Ajavon started this season for Rutgers as a true freshman.

Sims was named 2nd team All-County (Essex) by the Star Ledger. The Star ledger also selected her as a 1st team All-Junior and its Prime Time Performer. Sims was named an honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith's, and she was a participant for the New Jersey squad in the USA All-American camp.

Sims will join Ashleigh Braxton as the Lady Panthers backcourt of the future.
