Fla. DT Sets Pitt Visit

Geno Atkins is a 6-2 and 265 defensive tackle from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas High School. They just lost in the state championship to Lakeland (Fla.) High School 39-10 and finished the season at 14-1.

"I am visiting N.C. State (12-16), Auburn (1-14), Pittsburgh (1-7) and Michigan State (1-21)," said Atkins.

"I think N.C. State has a good defense, head coach and defensive coordinator. Auburn has a good academic program and the football team is peaking.

"Pitt, has a new coach and the program is headed up. Michigan State has a good academic center and they need defensive linemen."

Atkins recorded 66.5 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, 7. 5 sacks, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries this season. In regards to recruiting it appears he is leaving the state right now.

As of right now it looks like I am leaving Florida."
