3 Pitt Players Named to ECAC All-Star Game

Three Pitt players were named to the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I-A Football All-Star Team. Pitt's All-ECAC honorees include junior linebacker H.B. Blades, senior cornerback Bernard Lay, junior receiver Greg Lee.

The ECAC is an athletic affiliation of more than 300 Eastern colleges and universities.

Blades (Plantation, Fla./Plantation) ranks 12th nationally with an average of 11 tackles per game. His 121 tackles were the most among Big East defenders during the '05 regular season. Blades was selected first team All-Big East each of the last two years.

Lay (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa/Valley Forge Military Academy) averaged 1.27 passes defended per game to rank second in the Big East and 12th nationally. He earned first-team All-Big East honors after being a second-team pick last year. Lay had three returns for touchdowns during his Pitt career, including an 82-yard interception return, 71-yard blocked field goal return and 20-yard fumble return.

Lee (Tampa, Fla./Chamberlain) led the Big East during the regular season in receiving yards per game (87.5 avg.) and touchdown catches (seven). On the year he totaled 49 catches for 962 yards (19.6 avg.). Lee was a first team All-Big East selection in '05 after earning second-team honors last year.
