Fields visit set, Jeter reschedules

University of Pittsburgh Head Football Coach Dave Wannstedt currently has the 5th ranked recruiting class in the nation according to He, along with his staff, is attempting to complete their class by end of January. Two of the top athletes in Western Pennsylvania will be visiting the Panthers within the next two weeks.

"Coach (Bob) Junko came to my school and we rescheduled my visit to January 20th," stated wide receiver prospect Lance Jeter (6-ft-3 inches, 210 pounds) from Beaver Falls High School in Beaver Falls, PA. "He told me they wanted to bring me in a little later. I will be visiting along with Elijah Fields from Duquesne High School."

Jeter finished second in the WPIAL with 50 catches for 810 yards. He scored 15 total touchdowns. Lance played cornerback, free safety, wide receiver and running back as a senior. He is capable of running a 4.5 forty-yard dash.

"We talked a little more about my future. With Greg Lee leaving for the NFL, it looks like they want to add one or two more wide receivers. I guess they are hoping to add both me and Elijah." Elijah Fields is a "four-star" prospect and ranked the 10th best safety in the nation. He, like Jeter, has been referred to as a physical specimen.

Fields was named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette "Fab 22" team, first-team Class A Associated Press All-State, MSASPORTS "Elite 11", Pittsburgh Tribune Review"Terrific 25", and first-team All-WPIAL. The Associated Press crowned Fields as its 2005 Class A Player of the Year. He was also chosen as Class A Player of the Year by the WPIAL. Elijah finished with 704 yards rushing on 59 carries and caught 42 passes for 1,167 yards. Fields claims to be down to Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia and Ohio State.
