Miller primarily plays tight end in high school. He is capable of playing tight end and offensive tackle on the next level. Most schools seem to prefer Andy at offensive tackle. Miller has a lengthy 6 foot 6 inch frame. He's capable of adding a significant amount of weight without losing his mobility. Pitt, Ohio State, North Carolina State, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, West Virginia and Marshall have extended scholarship offers.
"Saturday was action packed. We spent time on the academic side of things, toured the facilities, toured Heinz Field and finished the night at Dave and Busters Restaurant. It was a lot of fun. I hung out with a bunch of recruits and I was able to meet some players like Darrell Strong and Darrelle Revis."
When asked specifically to talk about something that stood out during the visit, Miller quickly replied, "I guess sometimes you take things for granted with Pitt because their somewhat local. I always thought their campus and the City of Pittsburgh were one in the same. The campus is actually its own world. It's truly separate from the city. You can experience college life but have everything else around you."
Miller, ranked as the No. 50 prospect in Pennsylvania by Scout.com, had nine catches for 193 yards this year and ended his prep career with 20 grabs for 400 yards. He boasts a 3.99 GPA and scored the equivalent of a 1060 on the SAT. Pitt's Head Assistant Head Coach Bob Junko has been primarily responsible for Andy's recruitment. He was named first team Class AAAA Associated Press All-State and All-WPIAL.
Miller set one on one with Head Coach Dave Wannstedt on Sunday. He seemed to be very impressed with their discussion. "For such a high profile guy, Coach Wannstedt is very down to earth. I enjoyed talking with him. The players I spoke with told me he's a real players coach. I like that."
Miller previously visited Ohio State, West Virginia and Indiana.
"I really felt comfortable with the coaches and players at Pitt. The trip went very well. I need to sit down and make a decision. I should have a decision sometime this week."
