Panthers host Florida DB

The University of Pittsburgh has been pursing a number of quality defensive backs. Head Coach Dave Wannstedt and staff hosted an outstanding prospect from the talent rich state of Florida over the weekend.

Talented athlete Andy Dorcely (6-ft-1 inches, 175 pounds) from North Miami Beach High School in North Miami Beach, FL was one of eight players to visit over the weekend. Dorcely is capable of running a 4.5 forty yard dash. He has been a standout on both sides of the ball. Andy is known as a talented wide receiver, but it appears the Panthers may be recruiting him as a defensive back prospect.

Pitt has already landed an outstanding pair of cornerbacks with Ricky Gary (5-ft-8 inches, 175 pounds) from Pahokee, FL and Jovani Chappel (5-ft-8 ½ inches, 170 pounds) from Trotwood, OH. Chappel has already enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh.

Colorado, Stanford, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Central Florida have expressed heavy interest in Dorcely. A myriad of upper echelon schools have recently contacted North Miami Beach High School Head Football Coach Jeff Bertani about his availability.

Andy is an exceptional student with a 3.3 grade point average and 1040 score on his SAT. He is capable of bench pressing 250 pounds and squatting nearly 400 pounds.

Dorcely is set to talk with the this week. Stay tuned for the interview!
