Lowery, considered a three-star prospect by Scout.com, has garnered 22 scholarship offers from programs such as Georgia, Pitt, Alabama, Rutgers, USC, Illinois, Indiana, NC State, Michigan State, West Virginia, and Minnesota. He has already visited Rutgers (12/9) and North Carolina State (12/16).
"Coach Hill wants me to set a visit. I would really like to see what Pittsburgh has to offer. There are a few other schools trying to get me to visit. I may go to Colorado State. South Florida is in mix as well. I like everything about the Panthers. Pittsburgh is a great sports town that appreciates football. I just like that atmosphere. I would heavily consider going there."
Lowery registered 52 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 2 interceptions and recovered one fumble as a junior. He is capable of running a 4.7 forty-yard dash and bench pressing nearly 300 pounds.
"I'm going to get a hold of Coach Hill soon and get something set within the next two weeks. I have liked Pittsburgh quite a bit from the start of recruiting."
Lowery was the leading tackler for this year's Columbus High School team that finished 10-1 and lost in the second round of the state playoffs. He is currently the starting small forward for his high school basketball team. Antonio is averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Note for prayer: I was able to speak with Antonio's grandmother. Grandma Lowery is a sweet and uplifting woman that continues to battle cancer. Despite her illness, she continues to adhere to a positive attitude and loving demeanor. If you are saying your prayers tonight, please include her in them. The PatherDigest.com prays for her full recovery.
