Wright has been compared to current Washington Redskin wide receiver Santana Moss. He is capable of running a blistering 4.3 forty-yard dash. Andre averaged over 30 yards a catch this season. He is one of the fastest players in Western Pennsylvania.
"Pitt hasn't offered yet but they told me they would. I think they are waiting to see what I score on my SAT test. I take the test the week after my visit. The last time I took the SAT I scored around a 800. I plan on doing much better this time. There is no doubt in my mind that Pitt will offer if I qualify."
The Commodores won their sixth City League championship defeating Brashear High School 21-7. Pitt is also taking a strong look at Wright's teammate and quarterback Desmond Brentley (6 foot 3 inches, 225 pounds). Andre caught 20 passes for over 600 yards this season. As a junior, he caught 25 passes for approximately 900 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.
Head Coach Dave Wannstedt and staff are also pursing massive City League offensive tackle Kevin Macon (6 foot 7 inches, 330 pounds) from Oliver High School.
Would Wright commit if offered? "Yes, no doubt I would commit to Pitt. I have dreamed about playing for them. Coach (Dave) Wannstedt wants speed on both sides of the ball. You won't find many players as fast as me. I'm the deep threat they are looking for."
