Seven Panthers land on PA Big 33 Roster

The PNC Big 33 football classic is considered one of the top scholastic All-Star football games in the nation highlighting Pennsylvania and Ohio's outstanding high school athletes. The classic has been described as "The Super Bowl of High School Football."

Seven members of the Panthers' 2006 recruiting class have been selected to play in the PNC Big 33 football classic. Those players include Dorin Dickerson (WR) from West Allegheny High School in Imperial, PA, Jason Pinkston (OL/DL) from Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA, John Malecki (DL/OL) from Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, PA, Nat Nix (LB) from Thomas Jefferson High School in Clairton, PA, Greg Webster (LB) from Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh, PA, Nate Byham (TE) from Franklin Area High School in Franklin, PA and Aaron Smith (WR/KR) from Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA.

Two outstanding receivers, Aundre Wright from Perry Traditional Academy in Pittsburgh, PA and Lance Jeter from Beaver Falls Area High School in Beaver, PA, were also selected to the Pennsylvania squad. Both players visited the Panthers over the weekend.

The 2006 AAA Pennsylvania Big 33 Team will face the Ohio squad on Saturday evening, June 17 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA. The NFL's Super Bowl game has never been played without a Big 33 player as a participant.
