Jeter remains patient with Pitt

The University of Pittsburgh prepares to sign a stellar recruiting class in on Wednesday during National Letter of Intent Day. One of those players hoping to be on that list is multi-sport standout and physical specimen Lance Jeter (6-ft-3 inches, 210 pounds) from Beaver Falls High School in Beaver Falls, PA.

"I have been in contact with the coaches and Pitt and they told me they may offer around letter of intent day," stated Lance Jeter.

"I recently took my SATs and I feel I did pretty well. It's a matter of Pitt coming through with an offer."

Jeter finished second in the WPIAL with 50 catches for 810 yards. He scored 15 total touchdowns. Lance played cornerback, free safety, wide receiver and running back as a senior. He is capable of running a 4.5 forty-yard dash.

"I enjoyed my visit to Pitt (1/20). Tommie Campbell was a great host. I have other offers but Pitt would be my top school if they give me a scholarship. I would love to play there."

Jeter is one of the top basketball prospects in Western Pennsylvania. As a junior he led the Tigers to a WPIAL and PIAA Class AA championship. Lance, nicknamed "Sweet Jeet" averaged 20.4 points per game.

Lance has received scholarship offers from Toledo, Kent State and Eastern Michigan.

"The only thing I can do now is wait and hope things work out. They like me at wide receiver and I think I can make an impact at that position."
