Pappas has been a three-year starter at right tackle. He is capable of playing guard and tackle on the next level. Pete has been given the nickname "My big fat Greek lineman" by his coaches and teammates. He is capable of bench pressing 300 pounds and squatting 430 pounds.
When asked about his strengths, he stated, "I'm strong, good off the ball and a solid blocker. My strength is my run blocking."
Pappas' teammate Dave Wilson (6-foot-4 ½ inches, 235 pounds) was able to attend the Panthers' junior day activities. He came away very impressed.
"I loved everything about the visit. The facilities were out of this world and I really liked the campus. The basketball game was incredible. You could see how much the fans get into the sporting events."
Wilson is capable of playing tight end and defensive end on the next level. Most schools, including Pitt, are recruiting Wilson as a tight end. He has been a two-year starter. As a junior, he caught 12 passes for 356 yards.
"Pitt might be at the top of my list right now. I'm also looking at Virginia, Rutgers, Holy Cross, Temple and Penn State. Boston College, North Carolina State and Maryland are starting to pick up with their recruiting as well."
"I'm tall, athletic and I like to think I'm a perfect mix of a blocking and pass catching tight end. I have the frame to add a lot more weight. I like Pitt quite a bit and I'm going to try to get to their summer camp."
