Pitt offers Florida LB

University of Pittsburgh Head Coach Dave Wannstedt has frequently talked about enhancing speed on defense. It appears the Panthers have offered a scholarship to a Floridian known for his speed and aggression on the football field. Who did they offer? Read on.

"I have offers from Pittsburgh, Auburn, Ole Miss, Duke and FAU right now," state standout linebacker Josh Bynes (6-foot-3 inches, 220 pounds) from Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, FL. "I really like Pittsburgh and Auburn. I'm also interested in Miami (FL), Florida, Georgia, Florida State, Iowa and LSU."

Bynes had an outstanding junior season. He registered 147 tackles in 10 games. Josh's top performance came against Ely High School, when he had 21 tackles, three sacks, and three caused fumbles. Scout.com considers Josh a four-star prospect.

"Pittsburgh has an up and coming program. I know they are in the process of rebuilding their defense. I think they should have a strong season this year. Their offense could score points; it was there defense that struggled. I look forward to visiting there and seeing what there program is about."

When asked about his strengths, he stated, "I have the ability to read an offense. I'm instinctive and I'm usually right on the play before they hike the ball. I move well sideline to sideline. I'm explosive and I take on blocks."

"There are few things I'm going to look for in a school. I want to look at the schools academic situation and coach staff. It's important to me that I feel comfortable. Playing time is important as well. I'm not the type to be redshirted. I plan on making an impact."
