Panthers land Florida speedster for 7th early verbal

Chris ran the 40 in 4.43 seconds and had a vertical jump of 32.7 inches at the Miami Nike Camp, and both performances were among the top 15 at the camp. The Miami Nike camp features many of the best players in the state of Florida. Chris also had a 20 yard shuttle time of 4.19 and did 13 reps in the bench press with 185 lb's, with both marks considered to be outstanding for a WR. Chris had 31 catches for 880 yards and 7 TD's last season in his very first year of playing varsity! When you consider he did that at a school that features the single wing and runs the ball on almost every down, it is even more impressive! He just transferred a few day's ago to nearby Ovido High School because they have a system where they throw the ball all the time. He will be competing in class 6A this year. Chris was named 1st team All-Seminole County by the Orlando Sentinel and 2nd team All-State in class 4-A by the Florida Sportswriters Association. His yardage total was 9th highest in the state last season. In April, he won the 400-meter dash at Florida's District 7 track championships with a time of 49.73 seconds. Chris was recruit by Pitt offensive coordinator JD Brookhart. He also had a family friend that graduated from Pitt, tell him all about the new facilities and that really made a big impression on him. Plus, His mom is an ER doctor and she has told him how much she thinks of the medical school at Pitt and he has plans to go to medical school in the future. Per Prepstar magazine, Auburn, Central Florida, Rutgers and Tulane were the schools recruiting him the hardest, but that Florida, Florida State and Michigan have demonstrated interest in the last few weeks.
