Pitt co-leader for Florida DE

University of Pittsburgh Head Football Coach Dave Wannstedt is continuously looking to add talent from the state of Florida. Over a dozen players form the Sunshine State have been offered scholarships. It appears the Panthers are co-leaders for a speedy Florida defensive end.

"I have two leaders right now: Pittsburgh and Miami (FL)," stated defensive end Adewale Ojomo (6-foot-4 inches, 215 pounds) from Hialeah High School in Hialeah, FL. "I have three offers to date. Pittsburgh, Ole Miss and Miami (FL) have offered me. I think there are a few other that are very close."

Ojomo is considered one of the top pass rushers in the state of Florida. He is capable of running a 4.6 forty-yard dash. Adewale finished his junior season with 40 tackles and 7 sacks.

"I like Miami and Florida, but Pittsburgh interests me. They are out of state and Coach (Dave) Wannstedt is a really good coach. I want to give them a strong look. The ‘Canes are pressing me to commit early. I'm not sure if I want to do that. I may take a close look at Pittsburgh and a few other schools first."

Ojomo plans on attending the Scout.com All-American Combine at FAU on May 13th. He has been a three-year starter for Hialeah High School.

"I have mostly played rush linebacker but most schools think I'll end up a defensive end. I'm 6-foot-4 inches tall and I have a lot of room to grow. My size and speed are my main assets. Pittsburgh likes me at defensive end as well."

When asked what he was looking for in a school, he stated, "I want a great education. My goal is to major in business management. It's important to me to go to a school with a solid business management program. The school I go to has to have a coach that will get the best out of me as well."

"I like the Panthers. It's early but they are very high on my list. I may try to visit there within sometime this summer."
