Florida RB holds PITT offer

The Panthers have offered a number of quality prospects from the state of Florida. One of the top running back prospects hails from Naples, FL and officially holds a scholarship offer from the University of Pittsburgh. The PantherDigest.com recently spoke with this blue-chip prospect.

"Pittsburgh offered me a scholarship not that long ago," stated speedy running back Greg Williams (6-foot-2 inches, 200 pounds) from Barron Collier High School in Naples, FL. "I have four offers right now from Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Iowa State and Connecticut."

Williams rushed for 1,241 yards and scored 15 touchdowns as a junior. He is capable of running a 4.41 forty-yard dash.

"I'm a combination of speed and power. If I have to run by a defender, I can do it. I'll throw a move on them and blow by them. If I have to run through tackles, I can do that as well. I'm fast and I have great speed."

"Some of the schools I'm taking a close look at are Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Florida. I haven't set any visits yet but I would like to check them out."

When asked what he was looking for in a school, Williams stated, "I want to go to a program with strong academics and a winning football program. Playing time is going to factor in a well. I want to start and make an impact."

"Pittsburgh seems to have a good program and I know they want to run the ball. I plan on taking a closer look at them."

The Panthers have offered a number of Florida running backs including Bo Williams from Oakland Park, FL, Xavier Stinson from Hollywood, FL and Jamar Taylor from Lakeland, FL.
