"I committed to the Panthers today," stated DeCicco. "I'm very happy with my decision. I felt very comfortable with the coaching staff and it seems like a perfect fit. Ohio State was my second choice. Had they offered a scholarship, they would have been a contender. I'm just happy to be a Panther."
DeCicco has been a three year starter. He is capable of running a 4.6 forty-yard dash and bench pressing 300 pounds. Dom is considered one of the most versatile and athletic prospects in western Pennsylvania.
Dom was asked what position he would play at Pitt? "I spoke to Coach Dave)Wannstedt on the phone and he told me I could play wide receiver or safety. If I continue to grow, I'll end up at outside linebacker."
Dom was quick to state that he would take an active role as a recruiter for the Panthers. He mentioned the influence that Dorin Dickerson had on several of Pitt's class of 2006 recruiting class. "I'm going to head back down to Pitt camp and talk with the players that have scholarship offers from Pitt," said DeCicco. "I want them to join me and become Panthers."
