Hynoski completes final Pitt visit

University of Pittsburgh Head Football Coach Dave Wannstedt would like to establish a physical and punishing running game. One of the top running backs on the Panthers' radar happens to be Henry Hynoski from Southern Columbia Area High School (Catawissa, PA). "Hyno" visited the Pitt on Wednesday. He spoke with the PantherDigest.com about the visit.

"I have been to Pittsburgh many times but I wanted to visit and spent more time with the coaches and players," stated Henry Hynoski (6-foot-2 inches, 240 pounds). "The visit went really well. It was a great day."

Scout.com Big East Analyst Bob Lichtenfels ranks Hynoski the 14th best player in the state of Pennsylvania. He is ranked a three-star recruit. Henry rushed for 2,180 yards and scored 34 touchdowns as a junior. He caught 6 passes for 136 yards and scored 1 touchdown. Hynoski has been part of three state championship teams in three years.

"I was able to get a full tour of the campus, academic facilities and dorm rooms. After that I spent time with the coaching staff and players. The staff spent time with me and showed me where I would fit into their offensive scheme."

"It was great sitting down with the coaches. They still see me as a hybrid running back and fullback. Coach (David) Walker will use me like he used Rob Conrad at Syracuse. They told me I'm the perfect back for their system."

Hynoski is down to four schools: Pitt, Iowa, Rutgers and Ohio State. With visits to Rutgers and Pitt under his belt, he has a final visit set to Iowa on July 16th.

"The best part of the visit for me was hanging out with the player. I spent time with John Pelusi, Tyler Palko, Dorin Dickerson, John Malecki, Kevin Collier and Tyler Tkach. They are a great group of guy and they are committed to winning. I felt comfortable with them and I could see myself playing with that group of guys. Meeting that group may have been the best part of the visit."

Did the visit help the Panthers? "Yes, the visit helped," he said. "Pitt has been after me from the very beginning. I feel comfortable with the coaches and now I feel good about the players. I have one last visit to Iowa in mid-July and I'll make a decision shortly after."
