Bo Williams eyes Pitt visit

The University of Pittsburgh has successfully recruited a number of outstanding prospects from the state of Florida. It appears that Head Coach Dave Wannstedt has discovered a big play running back from Oakland Park, FL. Bo Williams talks about his leaders.

"My top five schools include Pittsburgh, Florida State, Florida, Nebraska and Central Florida," stated running back prospect Bo Williams (6-foot-1 inches, 211 pounds) from Northeast High School in Oakland Park, FL. "I still talk about my visit to Pittsburgh. I loved it up there."

Pitt, Florida State, Auburn, Nebraska, Central Florida, Boston College, Louisville and North Carolina State are amongst the plethora of schools that have offered Williams a scholarship. Northeast High School's season was cut short due to the hurricanes in Florida. Despite the shortened season, Williams rushed for nearly 800 yards on 83 carries (8.6 yards per carry).

"I sat down the other day and talked with my teammates Josh Hartigan and Darian Williams. We were talking about Pittsburgh. The three of us were talking about what it would be like if all of us went to Pittsburgh to play. I know we're in the process of setting up visits. Darian and Josh are probably going to go in October."

When does Williams want to visit? "I might go seperately from the two of them. I might go in December. I want to make sure I have plenty of one on one time with Coach (Dave) Wannstedt, Coach (David) Walker and Coach (Charlie) Partridge," he said.

"Coach Partridge is a great guy and feel very close to him. We text message all the time. He has a baby due any minute and I feel like I'm part of the family."

Williams is a rare combination of size and speed. Widely known as a track star, he has transferred his blazing speed onto the football field. Bo won the Junior Olympics 200-meter title with a time of 21.92 seconds. He recently topped that mark with a 21.7 time, the fastest in Florida this year.

"I really likes when I sat down with Coach Walker. I realize nothing is handed to you, but I feel that I can get to Pittsburgh and start. They are going to run the ball and they need a big back with speed. I think I fit into their system really well."

"I'm in the process of setting all of my visits. Nebraska will be my first on September 18th. I'm not sure when I'll get to the Florida schools."

"I still hope that Pitt takes a look at our fullback Jimmy Maitland (6-foot-1 inches, 230 pounds). Jimmy is one of the best fullbacks in the state of Florida and I trust him as my lead blocker. Josh, Darian, Jimmy and myself are all really tight."

"I can't wait to get back to Pittsburgh and take a second look at the school. I'm very, very high on Pittsburgh."
