Pitt to host pair from Naples, FL

The University of Pittsburgh continues to pursue some of the top talent in the state of Florida. Wide Receivers Coach Aubrey Hill is close to securing official visits from a pair of highly talented players. When will this duo visit Pitt? Read on for details.

"I have scholarship offers from a bunch of schools but I have narrowed my list to Pittsburgh, South Carolina and Ohio State. All three have offered me a scholarship," stated blue-chip wide receiver Matt Clements (6-foot-2 inches, 185 pounds) from Barron Collier High School in Naples, FL.

"I'm in the process of setting up official visits. Coach (Aubrey) Hill is my main contact for Pitt. He's a great guy. It looks like I'll visit Pitt on September 2nd and South Carolina on September 16th."

"Coach Hill has told me I'm one of the top wide receiver recruits on their board. They haven't signed any receivers to their 2007 class."

Clements is capable of running a forty-yard dash in 4.35 seconds. He's capable of bench pressing 270 pounds and squatting 420 pounds. The Panthers are heavily pursing his teammate Greg Williams (6-foot-2 inches, 210 pounds). Williams, a stellar running back, currently holds 10 scholarship offers.

"Pitt would like me to visit with Greg Williams. I know we would prefer to visit together. Greg is really high on the Panthers. We both like their offense. They want to pound the ball running but they use the run to set up the pass as well. We like the balance of the attack."

When Clements was asked about his strengths, he stated, "I bring a lot of field awareness. I run strong routes, I have soft hands and I have a lot of speed and vision."

"I look forward to visiting Pittsburgh and seeing what they are all about. I'm looking for two things: academics and playing time."
