Brandon Lindsey attends Pitt practice

The University of Pittsburgh is in the process of amassing another top recruiting class. One of the top linebackers in the state of Pennsylvania happens to be Brandon Lindsey (6-foot-2 inches, 220 pounds) from Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, PA. He recently attended Pitt's spring practice. Brandon spoke with the PantherDigest.com about his experience.

"I attended Pitt's spring practice a week ago," stated standout linebacker Brandon Lindsey. "I thought the coaches ran a crisp practice. Everything moves really well and there wasn't a lot of wasted time."

"I'm still looking mostly at Pitt, Ohio State, Boston College, West Virginia, Connecticut and Temple. All of them have offered me a scholarship," he stated.

Lindsay has an outstanding junior year. On offense, he rushed for 1,234 yards and scored 19 touchdowns as a junior. He registered 92 tackles, 11 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

"I was able to talk to Coach (Dave) Wannstedt, Coach (Curtis) Bray and Coach (David) Walker when I was down there. Pitt told me I can play either offense or defense. I spoke with Coach Bray about their situation with their linebackers. They lose a lot of people after the season. Coach Walker and I talked about how he would use me on offense."

Aliquippa High School is a relatively small school known for producing a myriad of outstanding football players. The pipeline between the University of Pittsburgh and "The Quips" has been well documented. A pair of former Quips, cornerback Darrelle Revis and linebacker Tommie Campbell, have locked down starting positions on the Panthers' defense.

"Playing time is important to me. It looks like I have an opportunity gain a lot of playing time at linebacker for the Panthers. They really aren't that deep at running back either."

Lindsay earned first team All-Conference on offense and defense as a junior. He was named honorable mention All-State as well. Brandon is capable of running a 4.6 forty-yard dash. He plays running back; linebacker and nose tackle for the Quips.

"A lot of people know what I can do on defense, but I'm good running back as well. I like to compare myself to Eddie Geroge. Like him I have size but I'm also pretty quick and nimble."

When asked if he was close to a final decision, Lindsey stated, "Not right now. I'm not close to a final decision. I have the Panthers in my top four or five. It looks like I'll visit Pitt, Ohio State and West Virginia. Those three for sure."

"I like Pitt a lot. I have friends on their roster, I like the coaching staff and they are my hometown team."
