Scout.com ranks Sheard a "four-star" prospect and the 19th best defensive end in the nation. He registered 28 tackles and 8 sacks as a junior.
"I still have scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Rutgers, Alabama, Arizona State and Auburn," he said. "I'm going to call coaches within the next week and start setting visits. Three schools that I definitely plan on visiting are Pittsburgh, Auburn and South Carolina. I really want to take a close look at them."
Jabaal is capable of bench pressing 370 pounds and running the forty-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He has been a two-year starter for Hollywood Hills High School. Panthers Assistant Coach Charlie Partridge has been his primary contact.
"I want to go to a school where I feel comfortable. I don't have issues leaving the state of Florida, but its going to help if there are players there I can relate to. Coach Partridge told me that a good bit of the Panthers roster comes from Florida."
"I'm going to try to set an early December visit. If I visit after the season I can take my time and really focus. I'm going to call Coach Partridge and get my visit set. It looks like the Panthers are off to a good start this season."
The University of Pittsburgh continues to pursue a number of defensive ends including Tony Tucker (6-foot-2 230 pounds) from St. Johns High School in Washington D.C., Adewale Ojomo (6-foot-4 210 pounds) from Hialeah Senior High School in Hialeah, FL, Uriah Grant (6-foot-1 inches, 248 pounds) from Everglades High School in Miramar, FL and Darel Strong (6-foot-4 inches, 250 pounds) from Reedley Community College in Reedley, CA and Jameil Farrington (6-foot-2 inches, 235 pounds) from Homestead Senior High School in Homestead, FL.
